Ramblings of a retiree in France
Still persisting taking close ups with my mini iPad for which I need plenty of practice. I’m continuing with the flower theme, and all of these were from our recent trip to Australia, though I have no idea what any of them are. Answers below would be much appreciated!
Sunshine’s Macro Monday is a challenge hosted by Irene encouraging us to scrutinise the smallest of details by getting up close and personal and bringing someone or something to life in a photograph. It’s a one day challenge without prompts. Irene posts a Sunshine’s Macro Monday post each Monday, just after midnight Central Time (US) so don’t forget to use the tag SMM and mention Sunshine’s Macro Monday somewhere on your post, creat a pingback or add a link in the comment’s section of her post.
I like the colors and the closeups – 🙂
cheery for a Monday too

you might want to try using a tripod or maybe a monopod with feet to help steady your shot

I do have a tripod but these are usually taken when I’m out and about.

i carry a light weight monopod that has feet to help steady shots. it has come in very handy

I’ll have to see if I can get one for my iPad. But it won’t stop the plants moving in the breeze.

Your photos look absolutely beautiful and colourful too, was it your first time traveling around Australia? Can’t wait for more photos and cute little details

No, it was my 4th trip and my beloved’s 8th. You’ll find blog posts on my earlier trips in 2010, 2016 and 2017.

I think the flowers are:
1. Almond blossom (Prunus dulcis)
2. Red Bottlebrush (Callistemon viminalis)
3. Red Cordyline (Poss: Cordyline fruticosa Rubra)
4. Variegated Croton (Poss: a ‘duck foot’ of Codiaeum variegatum)
5. White dendrobium orchids
6. The orange one at the bottom is a bromeliad, probably Aechmea blanchetiana
The one of the bottlebrush with the people and palm trees behind is particularly good! 🙂

Yes, I was delighted to get them identified. You two have a great Sunday too. I should add that it’s been raining on and off here since yesterday evening.
