Friday Photo Challenge – Christmas preparations

I love these weekly challenges because it forces me to think about what’s in my photo archives and how I might re-purpose them.
I must confess that I’ve done very little in preparation for Christmas other than making my Christmas cakes, which will be decorated this weekend, and ordering my Christmas cards. My beloved adores decorating the tree which he’ll do this weekend. If it were left to me we’d have very few decorations. Yes, I’m a bit of a Scrooge when it comes to some aspects of Christmas!

If you’ve enjoyed this post, why not join in the fun?

All of the mess that’s going on over there with the protests and everything… Some of the reports I’ve seen are pretty spooky.

Totally exaggerated by the press. The protests in Paris are always worst than everywhere else but thanks for thinking of me.

A good set. Our granddaughter, now married and in America, has been sorely missed. Ever since she could stand she has helped with our decorations 🙂

Thanks Derrick. So you have relatives in the States and Australia?

Yes. And another son and his New Zealand wife own land there although they live in England.

Is that… bottles? Oh my god, even if it’s beautiful I’ll be too scared to go near it.

Yes, it’s a Xmas tree made from beer bottles which we found in Gijon, in Asturias, northern Spain. It was a very large and stable construction.

Shame. I’ve never been in that part of Spain. We pass through it from time to time though.

I adore northern Spain from Basque country to Galicia. You need to stop next time rather than just passing through.

Haha 😀 yes, I should. Spain is the country I’ve in for the past decade and I haven’t explored it yet as much as I should 😀
