Ramblings of a retiree in France
Today’s challenge was set by Amanda who poses the question as to how seriously do we take our photography? I’m not a photographer, I don’t have a camera, just my iPhone or iPad which both pose certain challenges.
But why do I take photographs? It’s to capture moments in time, memories, feelings……………………….so that I can revisit them or share them with others.
I’m much enjoying these weekly challenges hosted on alternate weeks by either Amanda or Sandy because they force me to think about what’s in my photo archives and how I might re-use them.
If you’ve enjoyed this post, why not join in the fun?
Great shots, except for the SNAKE. Even that was a great shot, I just don;t like the subject matter. ๐ I am like you, I don’t consider myself a photographer either, but I sure do have fun with my camera.

Snakes frighten me too. I am amazed at how people can pet them and have them hang around their necks ๐… so brave!

I know. I AM NOT one of those people. Eels are a completely different story though.

The photos with the faces tell of the strongest feelings. In the photo of the little boy, even his hands tell of a ‘feeling’ – so even though your photos are taking with the intent to record events for later viewing, you do tell a story with the faces!

I’m with you the iPhone is the only reason I can turn out a half way decent picture. Prior to that, pictures were almost always blurry despite my best intentions. A steady hand I don’t have. Now, almost every shot is redeemable as long as it’s not people, who will want to check to be sure they look decent enough for me to keep a copy of. I do it too. Everyone wants their best image saved.

I donโt do selfies. Indeed, itโs rare for me to take photos of people, other than cyclists at races.

I totally agree. I do selfies now and again, just to document changes over the years.

Amazing photos, Sheree, especially number one. The second one, well, you’d never catch me with a snake around my neck. ๐
