Ramblings of a retiree in France
This week Amanda’s Friendly Friday Photo Challenge is to share pictures of QUIET PLACES.
According to her, the world can be a stressful place at times. Often there is a need to step back and re-energise our tolerance to stress, pressures and worries.
Certain places in the world can be restorative to our spirit. For me it’s being near water. Aside from the magnificent view from my home (pictured below from this morning), I love views of water – sea, lakes, rivers, ponds! I find it calming and soothing. What about you. Where’s your quiet place?
I’m much enjoying these weekly challenges hosted on alternate weeks by either Amanda or Sandy because they force me to think about what’s in my photo archives and how I might re-purpose them.
If you’ve enjoyed this post, why not join in the fun?

I can’t see the view of water due to being blind, but I love the sound of water.
That being said, my quiet place is in my room.

There is something very calming about water but so is a gentle fire in a fire pit and the wind blowing through the trees.

Not allowed fires here, itβs too dry.

These are lovely photosβevery one of them. I also love the calming effect of water. But walking in a forest, with the sun poking through periodically, is my favorite. Havenβt done that recently, though the image is easily conjured up.

You do have such a beautiful view Sheree, love that photo! All of the photos are great! I too love the water and find it very calming, that’s why I like to go down and sit by the river whenever I can. But soon I will have to stop that until spring. Have a wonderful weekend Sheree!ππΊπ

You have chosen some great photos here, Sheree. Especially calming are the longer views on the beach. Did you find the Sydney Opera house quiet? Or did that one sneak in?

Yes, I took the photo from the Gardens.
