Ramblings of a retiree in France
The Friendly Friday Challenge is now a fortnightly challenge co-hosted by Amanda from Something to Ponder About and Sandy from The Sandy Chronicles.
Sandy’s Friendly Friday Blog Challenge is road trip of which I’ve done a few. I’ve written extensively and ad nauseum about our various road trips around Australia and now I’m going to look at some rather closer to home.
I’m kicking off with a road trip we took back in July 2016 to watch the start of the Tour de France in Normandy which debuted our summer holiday. We took the opportunity to visit Carnac, a place where we’d holidayed a number of times 25 years ago! Talk about time flying.
You can read all about it here:- Postcard from the (De) Tour. Needless to say, we’ve still to revisit the Loire Valley.
Another and earlier road trip took in the UCI World Road Race Championships in Ponferrada, Spain. You can read all about it in Postcards from Ponferrada I and Postcards from Ponferrada II.
Of course what both these trips had in common was cycling. There will be more cycling road trips next week.

This year the girls are are opening up the challenge, making its focus not purely on photography but making it a little more varied, a little more open and interesting.
Are you joining in this year? Go on……you know it’ll be fun!
Gotta envy your road trips around France. That’s the stuff of dreams 🙂
