Ramblings of a retiree in France
My mother was blessed with very green fingers, sadly I am not. Buy me flowers or indeed a potted plant and no bookie would give you odds on how long it’ll last. Many, of course, fall by the wayside on one of my many trips. I water them before I go and return to find them shrivelled and way past any possibility of revival. It’s a standing joke among my beloved and our friends.Β
However, I absolutely adore flowers in situ and that’s what I’m going to be featuring over the next few months or so. This is a magnificent rhododendron we saw at Longwood Gardens just outside Philadelphia last summer.
Don’t over water.

Listen to Andrew and don’t water until they almost droop. Your killing them with love. Ignore them for them occasionally and they will “speak” to you. π

Same here, mom was the gardenmaster and plants assigned to me are on death row. Thank goodness my better half has a wonderful touch with the gardens here.
