Today’s prompt is a Folk love song from my tweens (ages 8 – 12). I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a big fan of folk songs and as a tween I wasn’t really into music. However, I thought of one I discovered much later but which was released when I was a tween.
Brown Eyed Girl is a song by Northern Irish singer and songwriter Van Morrison. Written by Morrison, it was released as a single in June 1967, peaking at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song spent a total of sixteen weeks on the chart. It featured the Sweet Inspirations singing back-up vocals and is considered to be Van Morrison’s signature song.
I was aware of the song but first heard Van Morrison perform it at the Nice Jazz Festival in 2001 (along with also hearing BB King) and was completely bowled over by his performance.
“Love Is In Da Blog” Rules/suggestions
Join in! No matter where, when and with what. You missed the first day or week? Don’t worry. Just jump in when it suits you.
Send us the link! My blog is public again, so ping-backs work. A ping-back is a link from one WP blog to another. If you blog on another platform, please leave your link in the comments.
Tag your post either with “Love Is In Da Blog” or “LoIsInDaBl” or “Love Is In Da Blog 23” or #LoIsInDaBl23. You can also use these as hashtags for Twitter and other Social Networks to give your post more exposure.
No matter which music the prompt favours, you create with it whatever you please and whatever length you please (no pun intended 😉 ) as long as it is about “LOVE.”
I post the prompt post the day before, so you have some time to make up your mind and create your post. There won’t be two different posts, and I hope it’s not too confusing.

One of my favorite movie endings is “Michael.” John Travolta and Jean Stapleton dancing to Van Morrison’s ‘Brights Side of the Road.’ Great musical choice, Sheree.
Love Van Morrison…
