Musical February : Day 10

I’m a big music fan so thought it might be nice to take part in Bee’s ” Love is in Da Blog” Challenge for the month of February.

Today’s prompt is a song about unconditional love suggested by Jim Adams.

People often claim their love to be unconditional when in reality, they put plenty of conditions upon it. How we condition our love says as much about us as it does the target of our affection.

Like me, I hope you have someone who

  • loves you for you
  • accepts you without demands
  • believes in you, and
  • supports you through both triumph and tragedy.

I’ve gone with I Knew I Loved You by Australian pop duo Savage Garden, released as the second single from their second studio album, Affirmation (1999). The song was created as an attempt to replicate the composition of Savage Garden’s previous single Truly Madly Deeply.

Upon its release, I Knew I Loved You topped the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming the band’s second number one in the United States.

The accompanying music video for was filmed in August 1999 on a New York City Subway set that had previously been used on the sitcom SeinfeldIt features Hayes playing out a romantic plot on a subway train, with a female passenger (played by American actress Kirsten Dunst) as the object of his affections.

“Love Is In Da Blog” Rules/suggestions

  1. Join in! No matter where, when and with what. You missed the first day or week? Don’t worry. Just jump in when it suits you.
  2. Send us the link! My blog is public again, so ping-backs work. A ping-back is a link from one WP blog to another. If you blog on another platform, please leave your link in the comments.
  3. Tag your post either with “Love Is In Da Blog” or “LoIsInDaBl” or “Love Is In Da Blog 23” or #LoIsInDaBl23. You can also use these as hashtags for Twitter and other Social Networks to give your post more exposure.
  4. No matter which music the prompt favours, you create with it whatever you please and whatever length you please (no pun intended 😉 ) as long as it is about “LOVE.”
  5. I post the prompt post the day before, so you have some time to make up your mind and create your post. There won’t be two different posts, and I hope it’s not too confusing.
  6. If you like, use this picture for your readers to find the posts.

  1. Ah, I remember “Truly, Madly, Deeply” but can’t remember this one. Also, I didn’t know they are Australian. Oh, and Kirsten Dunst was so young 😊 Great choice. 🤗
